Graduate Commencement Timeline and Procedures

Penultimate Semester Before Degree Date:

Students who are planning to participate in the Spring Commencement Ceremony must register on the Department of Music’s on-line website (beginning November 15 and ending April 15). Please list your name, as you would like it to be listed in the commencement program.

February

Master’s students must submit Advancement to Candidacy forms to Student Affairs Officer by the end of the fourth week of classes.

March

Commencement information (including cap and gown rentals, commencement logistics) is sent by e-mail.

May

Commencement typically takes place in Hertz Hall on the second or third Sunday in May beginning at noon with a concert by the Eisner Prize recipients. After conferral of graduate and undergraduate degrees, there is will be a reception in the lobby of Hertz Hall. See the Academic Calendar for the exact date of Commencement.
