Information for returning and potential singers

Description:
Singers in the Chamber Chorus are expected to have advanced musicianship skills and significant vocal/choral experience, and to be passionately devoted to chamber choir singing.

Concerts:

TBA  Noontime Choral Collage Concert  (Hertz Hall; with UC choirs)
Dress rehearsals:

First rehearsal:
Wednesday, 8/22, 5:30-7:30pm – 320 Hertz Hall

Rehearsals:
Mondays, 5:30-7:30 – 250 Morrison
Wednesdays, 5:30-7:30 – 320 Hertz Hall

Ave Maris Stella (Grieg); A Maiden Is In A Ring (Alfven); Det är en ros utsprungen (Sandstrom); The Fruit of Silence (Vasks); Pa se sliš (Pahor); Rotala (Karlsons); Insanae et vanae curae (Haydn); I Was Glad (Parry); Ding Dong Merrily On High (arr: Barlow); The Holly and the Ivy (Gjeilo); Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing (Wilberg)

Audition times:

Sign up for an 8-minute slot outside the Music Dept office (104 Morrison Hall)
Tuesday, 8/21:  10-11:30am; 1-2:30pm
Wednesday, 8/22: 3:30-5pm; 8-9:30pm (First meeting is 5:30-7:30pm)
Additional auditions times may be added if needed

Audition information:

Singers who participated in previous Chamber Choruses are accepted without an audition, but must sign up in an audition slot to be heard.

>>Please arrive a few minutes early to fill out any necessary forms

Audition description:

NB:  If you are absolutely unable to audition before the first rehearsal, please attend the first rehearsal anyway.  However, it is very possible that all slots will have already been filled.

  • Each audition will last 8 minutes and you should bring a prepared song (an accompanist will be provided). Please bring 3 copies (only 2 needed if performing from memory)
