2015-16 Season MAGEN SOLOMON
Active across the US and abroad as a clinician, teacher, and guest conductor, Magen Solomon has been Artistic Director of the semi-professional San Francisco Choral Artists since 1995. Dr. Solomon and SFCA have premiered over 250 choral works, performed at major choral conferences, won national prizes, and released three CDs.
In the fall of 2014 she was appointed Artistic Director of the San Francisco Bach Choir, a 65-voice community choir specializing in works of the Renaissance, Baroque, and Classical periods. She previously served as Artistic Director of the Stockton Chorale, and for twelve years was Music Director of the Oakland Symphony Chorus. From 2004-2010 Dr. Solomon taught and conducted at the University of Southern California. She has also served on the music faculties at Santa Clara University, Smith and Mount Holyoke colleges, and at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Dr. Solomon has directed the California Bach Society, Pro Coro Canada, UC Santa Cruz Chamber Singers and others ensembles and collaborated on performances of major choral works with professional orchestras across California.
