Richard Worn
Bay Area native Richard Worn has been thoroughly ensconced in the UC Berkeley Music Dept. since 1996. As the Bassist with the Berkeley New Music Project and the Eco Ensemble he has premiered numerous works of Berkeley composers for Solo Bass and within ensembles. He has been the Double Bass Lecturer since 2001. In addition to private instruction Mr. Worn coaches the UCBSO Bass section and often performs and tours with the Orchestra.
Richard’s fundamental teaching philosophy is the synthesis of mind and body. The beauty of the science of music is this incorporation. In this way he can address the individual needs of each student and help them find their own voice.
