Audition Dates
Spring 2026 auditions will be held January 21-24 (Wednesday-Saturday).
Fall 2026 auditions will be held August 26-29 (Wednesday-Saturday).
Spring 2027 auditions will be held January 20-23 (Wednesday-Saturday).
How To Audition
Step 1: Audition Information Form
Please use the link above to submit an Audition Information Form before your audition. You will be asked to provide basic information such as your name, contact details, and rental needs (if applicable). You will also be asked to summarize your musical background and experience. Please allow 5-10 minutes to complete.
Step 2: Schedule Your Audition
- Visit 43 Chavez Center (basement level – Google Maps – Visual Directions) and sign up for a time on the bulletin board in the hallway.
Step 3: Prepare Your Audition
Audition Playing Requirements:
- Part 1: Scales
- Minimum: (4) major scales, (1) minor scale, (1) two-octave chromatic scale
- Preferred: (12) major scales, (12) minor scales, (1) full-range chromatic scale
- Part 2: Prepared Repertoire
- 2-3 minutes of prepared repertoire (etudes, excerpts, solo pieces, etc.) that you feel best showcases your technical and expressive capabilities.
- You may select your own repertoire or use the audition etudes provided below.
- Choose repertoire that offers a contrast between precise, rhythmic, "dance-like" playing, and more lyrical, expressive, "song-like" playing.
- You are welcome to make cuts or skip repeats in order to fit under the 3-minute limit.
- Bring a digital or printed copy to your audition. (Not necessary if using the etudes below.)
Audition Etudes
You are welcome to use these etudes as all or a part of your audition.
