    Songs that are limited to a music score or to notes on a page have very little life and meaning if they are not embodied in the hearts and bodies of the singers and listeners. Join us for an afternoon of “bodywork” in a celebration of gospel music that moves, excites, enthuses and liberates the heart, body, mind and soul, even in an academic setting.

    “Remembering Andre – A Thanksgiving Tribute to Gospel Legend Andre Crouch”

    Often identified as the father of the modern and contemporary gospel music, this post-Thanksgiving concert pays tribute to this musical genius whose genre of modern and contemporary gospel will continue on even after his passing earlier this year in January 2015.

    The University Gospel Chorus, directed by D. Mark Wilson, performs excerpts from Kirk’s sacred jazz/gospel composition, with the accompaniment of Bay Area big band leader, David Hardiman Sr., members of his San Francisco Allstar Band, and student jazz artists.
